band, ensemble, nonet-  a nine member ensemble of high level musicians proficient in; 
1. BRASS- including but not limited to trumpet & trombone, 
2. WOODWINDS- usually saxophones, flutes and clarinets, 
3. RHYTHM instruments- commonly piano, guitar, bass, and drum set,
gathered for purposes of performing the music of Thelonious Monk.
